Actually, all they did last season was what they always do. Looked closely. They immersed themselves deeply in plays and material, in stories and characters. All power reserved for "their" artists, for "their" theater. But this time, artistic director Jossi Wieler and chief dramaturge Sergio Morabito have succeeded in creating a season that is likely to resonate for a long time to come. Not only with their own works ("Fidelio", "I puritani"), but also with the engagement of guest directors such as Kirill Serebrennikov ("Salome") or Nicola Hümpel ("Reigen"). Diversity of scenic and musical signatures, stability in the ensemble and in the company - with this mixture, mountains can be moved.
