Born in Böblingen in 1994. In 2023, he was selected for the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg Jazz Academy and opened the musicians’ concert evening with his composition “Through the Hourglass”. In the same year, he was invited to the New Generation Festival Frauenfeld and Jazzfestival Copenhagen. While his focus is on improvised music, he is equally at home in popular music. As bandleader of his own ensemble nju:zone, he delights audiences all over Europe. Collaborations with renowned artists and international jazz greats underline Lucas Johnson’s promising future.
