Matan Porat



born in Tel-Aviv, studied with Emanuel Krasovsky, Maria João Pires and Murray Perahia and received his Master’s degree from the Juilliard School. He has given piano recitals at the Berlin Philharmonie, the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris and Wigmore Hall in London and has performed as a soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the SWR Symphony Orchestra, among others. As a chamber musician, he is a welcome guest at the Marlboro, Lockenhaus, Rheingau, Verbier and Heidelberger Frühling festivals. Known for his unique, narrative programmes, his versatile concert repertoire ranges from all of Bach’s partitas to all of Schubert’s sonatas to Ligeti’s Piano Concerto.
