Vita

comes from Tokyo and now works as a choreographer and dancer in Berlin.She began working with NICO AND THE NAVIGATORS in 2008, developing her own pieces alongside collaborations with choreographers/directors such as Ismael Ivo, Helena Waldmann, Tomi Paasonen, Nir de Volff and Kadir Amigo Memis, and has presented at numerous international dance festivals in Asia, Europe and the USA. She co-choreographed and danced in the ECHO Klassik Special Award winning production of “Flying Bach” by Flying Steps. 2010 Cologne Dance Prize for her solo “andropolaroid”. Since 2008 she has continued the series “The City in the Piano” together with the Japanese jazz pianist Aki Takase. 2019 Choreography for “Flying Pictures” by Flying Steps at Hamburger Bahnhof and 2020 for the opera production “Suor Angelica” by the Berliner Philharmoniker with Kirill Petrenko and Nicola Hümpel.
