Vita

As an interpreter, composer, performer, and improvising musician, he is regarded as one of the most creative brass players of his generation. As a soloist and ensemble member, he is a regular guest at major festivals for contemporary music. A central focus of his work is the close collaboration with composers and stage artists in the realization of new works for a wide range of (brass) instruments, as well as the exploration of new sounds – acoustic, conceptual, and social – in his own pieces. Paul Hübner is the recipient of several national and international competition prizes and was a scholarship holder at the International Ensemble Modern Academy as well as at the Cité des Arts in Paris. Since 2021, Paul Hübner has been a permanent musical partner of NICO AND THE NAVIGATORS – both as a virtuoso trumpeter and as musical director.
