studied singing at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. At the beginning of his career, he was an ensemble member of the Bavarian State Opera and the Vienna State Opera. With his broad repertoire ranging from baroque to modern, he is also a welcome guest at all major international stages and renowned festivals such as the Berlin State Opera, the Stuttgart and Cologne Operas, the Opéra Comique Paris, the Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Salzburg Easter Festival and the Glyndebourne Festival. Concerts and recitals are a major concern of his: He has appeared on the podium in New York, Amsterdam, Vienna, Brussels and Berlin, among other places.
